And here come the Jinetes

Hi Reconquista fans, here’s another mounted unit of my Toledo army: the poor yet vital Jinetes.

I’ve been told by senior Spanish Warlords that Jinetes are the backbone of a Spanish Warband, so I’ve got to paint at least three units of these. Ouch! That’s 24 mounted warriors! My daughter will be graduated before I can do that (she’s two now). Anyway that’s the first unit, part Conquest, part kitbashed from Wargames Factory’s Celt Cavalry with Conquest Norman Cavalry headswap. Arms are from GB’s Dark Age Warriors set and some bitz from Wargames Factory. Some horses are a bit late I know, but I was short of dark age ones, so I used: some of those nice Perry from their Wotr range, a nondescript metal high medieval horse from don’t know where, an Ancient Greek mount from BTD, and a GB Saracen mare with a picnic blanket on the cheeks. So let’s say the whole unit is a bit of a bits box pout pourri, but I hope the pj keeps everything together. And so here’s the Jinetes!
